Sonae Sierra grows services in EMEA with more 209,000m2 of GLA

This comprises additional mixed used schemes with retail, offices and residential as well as 4 shopping centres in Turkey and 1 in Algeria. This portfolio growth reinforces the proven added value that Sonae Sierra brings to such markets, with distinct improvements to shopping centres, turning them into living spaces. By providing skilled management knowledge Sonae Sierra can attract top tenants and brands, ensuring an appealing tenant mix, but also guaranteeing state-of-the-art services in terms of operations, administrative management, research, marketing and sustainability.

Turkish management expertise growth

In the Turkish market Sonae Sierra presented a significant growth with new Leasing and Property Management contracts. On top of the current services, Sonae Sierra added another 53,160m2 of GLA with 3 shopping centres and one project under development in Izmir.

The Izmir project, located in Bornova region (with 7,000m2 of GLA and 55,000m2 of closed facility management services area), is within an important growing residential area where the shopping centre will feature open air parking, fitness and SPA centre, together with high-end brands, gourmet shops, supermarket, fine dining and other street shopping concepts adding to a large offer of services and entertainment destined for the residents.

The three new Leasing and Property Management services will be servicing more than 125 tenants over a total area of 46,160m2 of GLA, in shopping centre Varlibaş AVM (in Trabzon, with 23,000m2of GLA), Mix (in Kayseri, with 8,000m2 of GLA) and BYZ Outlet (in Kayseri, with 15,000m2 of GLA).

Totaling 6 shopping centres in Turkey, Sonae Sierra will be responsible for leasing and/or managing more than 60,000m2 of operating GLA; and leasing one project under development.

In addition, Sonae Sierra in Turkey is now delivering Facility Management services for more than 140,000m2 of closed area in mixed use projects combining retail areas together with offices and residential areas.

Algerian new market needs

Located in the city of Oran, the new shopping centre will offer around 16.000m2 of GLA over two main levels, including restaurants and additional 900 parking spaces. The shopping centre is easily accessed from the city centre and is located in a highly dense residential area. Sonae Sierra will deliver full Leasing and Property Management services to this new centre, a unique and modern destination in the city of Oran.
